State patrol handled 100 incidents over New Year’s

The Ohio State Highway Patrol in Wood County handled more than 100 incidents over the New Year’s holiday.

Statistics indicated that a total of 107 incidents were handled in Wood County. The same number was
handled in Lucas County while Hancock County saw 121 incidents.
Franklin County saw the most incidents, with 353. Darke County had the fewest, with no incidents reported
at all.
Additionally, three people were killed statewide on roadways during the holiday. Last year, six people
were killed during the same period.
Statewide, troopers arrested 162 drivers for impaired driving, an increase of 27 percent when compared to
last year’s holiday. Further, troopers cited 222 people with aggressive driving, an increase of 37
percent, and arrested 53 motorists for drug-related offenses, an increase of 21 percent.
