Society handles 122 cases in two months

The Wood County Humane Society (WCHS) employs a Humane Agent to investigate reports of neglect, cruelty,
and abuse from concerned citizens, social services, health departments, and other law enforcement
agencies. The following reports were submitted by Humane Agent D’Ann Gregory for the initial two months
of 2014.
Inn January, Gregory reported 27 closed cases and 44 re-checks. Among these cases were 18 reports filed
with "reason for concern," six unable to locate cases, one assistance/referral to another
agency case, and one case that required additional education for the offenders.
In February, Gregory reported 17 closed cases and 34 re-checks. Among these cases were 13 reports filed
with "reason for concern," one abandonment case, one unable to locate case, one
assistance/referral to another agency case, and three cases that required additional education for the
