Two people were been cited in weather-related injury crashes occurring in the county this week.
Kenneth Pierson, Millbury, was cited for failure to control following a Wednesday accident just after 1:30 p.m. on U.S. 6, just west of Potter Road.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office reports that while driving his 2002 Freightliner tractor-trailer eastbound on Route 6, Pierson lost control on the snow and ice and the vehicle jack-knifed. He struck a guardrail, and came to rest sideways in the road.
As the result of the impact, diesel fuel leaked from the truck, and the roadway was closed for approximately two hours.
Pierson sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Wood County Hospital by Bowling Green Fire/EMS.
On Thursday, Zailett Morales, Bowling Green, was southbound on Sugar Creek Road at Kellogg Road at 7:12 a.m., but slid on the ice, drove through the posted stop sign at Kellogg Road, and drove into a ditch on the south side of the intersection.
Morales sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Wood County Hospital by Northwest 190 EMS. She was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
