ROSSFORD – Rossford Police and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation are looking into a series of shots reported fired at the Bass Pro Shops along Interstate 75 Thursday morning.
Police Chief Glen Goss said that employees opening the store around 7 a.m. noticed broken windows at the scene and contacted police. Further investigation determined that several shots were fired into the west side of the building, facing I-75.
“No one was in the building that we know of at the time,” said Goss, and there were no injuries reported.
Portions of northbound and southbound I-75 were briefly closed in the area as part of the investigation, allowing officers to search for additional evidence.
It is not yet known if the shooter fired the rounds on foot, or if they were in a car traveling on I-75.
Goss said the BCI gathered evidence at the scene, but could not share what calibre of ammunition was used, or what kind of gun might have fired it.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
