Season passes for Bowling Green's new aquatic complex at City Park will go on sale Saturday at the Community Center.
Sales will be limited to residents until May 18, when sales will open to everyone.
Director of Parks and Recreation said everyone who purchases a pass will be required to sign a statement indicating they realize the facility may not open June 1.
"With the wet weather the construction has started to fall behind schedule," Director of Parks and Recreation Dr. Michelle Grigore said Wednesday. "The contractor planned to pour concrete slabs starting last week but the rain has made that impossible. The June 1 date is not looking good," she said.
Electrical, plumbing and equipment installation is continuing inside the bathhouse and the filter building, Grigore said.
Tuesday night 17 people attended a meeting at the Community Center to hear an update on the project and ask questions. Grigore said the group was positive about the project and was interested in details of the operation.
Once construction is completed Grigore said the city needs two weeks to fill the pool, check out systems and train the staff. She has said the training will be a key to operations because the facility is new to everyone.
