Parent arrested at Elmwood school PDF Print E-mail

BLOOMDALE – A village woman was arrested Thursday morning following an incident at Elmwood Local Schools.
Angela West, 30, Bloomdale, was taken into custody by the school resource officer for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
The incident reportedly stemmed from an issue involving West’s son, who was not picked up by a school bus.
Superintendent Tony Borton, who is currently in North Dakota with the Elmwood robotics team, said the incident still has to be investigated. He did not witness the incident.

Hearse involved in 3-vehicle crash PDF Print E-mail

LIME CITY - Multiple injuries were reported Tuesday in a crash on U.S. 20 at Lime City Road that involved a hearse.
The hearse, reportedly belonging to Marsh Funeral Home, Luckey, was not transporting a body at the time.
According to the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, at 12:41 p.m. a Lincoln Zephyr driven by Brittany Measel, Northwood, was stopped southeast on Route 20 to turn left into a private drive. The hearse, driven by Theodore Deal, Genoa, was stopped behind it.
A Dodge Caravan driven by William Allinder, Gibsonburg, then reportedly struck the hearse from behind, which forced the hearse into the Measel's vehicle.

Help 'Make A Difference For Christmas' PDF Print E-mail

Lt. Tim McGiffin of the Wood County Sheriff's Office is hoping to "Make A Difference For Christmas" this year.
His project of the same name is looking to support some needy families in the Bowling Green and Wood County area.
McGiffin is seeking donations of non-perishable food, toys, and/or gift certificates in order to present gift baskets to needy college students, senior citizens, single parents and others in need
The project hopes to help three or four families, and local agencies are to be approached for names of those who could benefit.
"This is the first year," McGiffin said of the project. "For the past few years we had, through conjunction with the sheriff's office, we had done a Thanksgiving basket."

Panic/anxiety
meeting Monday
Managing Holiday Anxiety and Depression will be the topic for Monday’s meeting of the Panic and Anxiety Disorder Support Group.
The group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Medical Building of Wood County Hospital, 970 W. Wooster St.
Refreshments are provided and there is no fee for the group.

Indictments issued for two shooters, manufacturer of meth PDF Print E-mail

Indictments were handed down Wednesday on three high-profile cases in Custar, Pemberville and Luckey.
Thomas J. Boyer, 53, Custar, was indicted for one count of attempted murder and one count of felonious assault in the Nov. 20 shooting of William Morris, 42, Rutland.
Boyer allegedly shot Morris once in the back with a shotgun outside of Boyer's residence on Defiance Pike. Morris was working as a subcontractor for a company ultimately engaged by OneWest Bank, which had foreclosed on Boyer's residence in September. The home is to be sold at a sheriff's sale in January.
Morris was taken to University of Toledo Medical Center for treatment.
