(Updated) 1-24-13  3:45 p.m. - At least six fire departments battled a house fire at Custar Road and Hammansburg Road in Jackson Township Friday afternoon.

There are no reports of injuries. Winds gusted upwards of 30 mph with a temperature of nine degrees. SEE MORE PHOTOS

The scene is at the northwest corner of the intersection. The Wood County Auditor's website indicates the property at 23046 Hammansburg Road is owned by Edwin and Helen Moses.

Tankers emptied water into portable tanks at the scene and went to Custar four miles to the north for more water.

Jackson and Milton Township firefighters were called first and later requested help from McComb, Central Joint, Deshler and Weston. At 2:20 p.m. a tanker was requested from North Baltimore.

Fire command asked Wood County dispatch to have the State Fire Marshal's office call the scene.

The fire scene is about 20 miles southwest of Bowling Green.

The annual meeting of the Plain Township Zoning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals will be held on Monday at 6 p.m. at the Plain Township Hall.
Following the zoning annual meeting, the Plain Township Trustees will be holding their annual meeting.

BG man arrested for domestic violence and resisting arrest PDF Print E-mail

A city man was arrested early this morning for domestic violence following an incident in which he reportedly resisted arrest.
Bowling Green police were called to the scene, in the 800 block of Klotz Road, at 1:33 a.m.
Maj. Tony Hetrick indicated that the suspect, Jeffrey Kill, 44, was non-compliant and would not allow himself to be handcuffed by officers.
Hetrick indicated that an officer deployed a shoulder blade strike maneuver to get one of Kill's arms out from underneath him. He was subsequently taken into custody.
Kill was charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest.

BG Utilities office reports email scam PDF Print E-mail

Some City of Bowling Green Municipal Utilities customers have reported receiving emails from someone claiming to be PG & E (Pacific Gas & Electric Company).
These e-mails are a scam.
The email contains an energy statement showing a past due balance and asks for personal payment information. If a customer receives one of these emails, he or she should take the following action: Do not respond to the request, do not click on links, do not open attachments, do not provide personal information, do not provide credit card or bank information and delete the email.

Two indicted for Perrysburg Heights shooting PDF Print E-mail

LIME CITY - Two men originally charged with obstruction have been indicted in the shooting of a man in Perrysburg Heights earlier this month.
Damien M. Owens, 20, Perrysburg, was indicted on one count of attempted murder, a first-degree felony, and one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, in the Jan. 8 shooting. Richard E. Owens, 47, was indicted on one count of attempted complicity to murder, a first-degree felony, and one count of complicity to felonious assault, a second-degree felony.
According to court documents, Damien Owens is the owner of a Rugar Mark III automatic handgun with a silencer, which was used in the incident.
He reportedly discharged the firearm at Alec Castillo, 19, Perrysburg, in the area of Gloria and Broad streets.
