The following candidates will appear on the May 6 primary election ballot.
Candidates are not official until certified by the Wood County Board of Elections on Feb. 13.

One person seriously hurt in wrong-way I-75 crash PDF Print E-mail

ROSSFORD – One person was seriously injured in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 near the Wales Road exit in the city.
The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol reports that at approximately 10:10 a.m. Sophie Pecuszok, 83, Walbridge, was northbound in the southbound lanes of I-75, driving a 2001 Chrysler 300, when she struck head-on a 2009 Chevy Cobalt driven by Kristopher Widdersheim, 28, Toledo, who was southbound in the left lane.
Pecuszok was trapped in the vehicle for an extended period of time. She reportedly sustained serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, and was transported to Bay Park Hospital, Oregon, by Northwood EMS. It was not known if she was wearing a seat belt.

Millbury man pleads guilty to amended charge PDF Print E-mail

A Millbury man pleaded guilty to an amended charge related to an offense committed against a student while he was a substitute at Lake High School in 2011.
Jacob Kubuske, 29, appeared Thursday in the courtroom of Wood County Judge Robert Pollex.
Kubuske pleaded guilty to one count of attempted menacing by stalking, a fifth-degree felony.
He had previously been indicted on a single count of sexual battery, a third-degree felony.
Prosecuting attorney Gwen Howe-Gebers said the plea agreement was reached after discussions with the victim, as well as Ted Riley, Kubuske’s attorney.
