ROSSFORD - A man suspected of robbing a Rite Aid pharmacy in Rossford Wednesday was arrested Friday in Norwalk.
Norwalk Police Detective James Fulton, along with another officer, arrested Cody J. Devor inside of the Premiere Theater 8 on Ohio 250 where he appeared to be sleeping, according to Rossford police.
Devor, 28, of Mount Blanchard, was taken into custody and is being held in the Huron County Jail pending an extradition hearing today on outstanding felony charges from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office. Rossford Police also have an outstanding warrant for Devor's arrest on an unrelated theft case.
Detective Sgt. Todd Kitzler and Chief Glenn Goss of the Rossford Police Department went to Norwalk to gather more evidence of the crime committed in their jurisdiction. A search warrant was obtained by officers who were able to recovery evidence related to the Rite Aid robbery.
Police intend to issue warrants for the arrest of Devor today on at least one felony charge of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon,  but further charges are possible as the investigation continues.
Goss said that getting the word, and photographs, of the robbery suspect out to the public through the news media and social media proved to be successful as tipsters called in with information.
The chief also said that Rossford Police canvassed area businesses with information about the robbery and found out that Devor had also committed a theft offense at the Stop-n-Shop, located across the street from the Rossford Rite Aid, the night before that robbery.
