|Rossford police arrest Florida man after mishap for assault|

ROSSFORD - Police arrested a Florida man Tuesday following a crash on Interstate 75 after he reportedly threatened bystanders and his own passengers.
Donnie W. Hill, 51, Summerfield, Fla., is being held in the Wood County jail on $75,000 bond.
He is to appear in Wood County Court of Common Pleas on Aug. 1.
Rossford Police report that officers responded to the reported injury crash on southbound I-75 at the Buck Road overpass at around 10:52 a.m.
A Perrysburg Township police officer, who arrived first on the scene, subdued Hill, who reportedly was threatening bystanders and appeared to want to flee the scene of the crash. Rossford officers, and additional township officers, arrived at the scene to assist.
Witnesses told police that the 2003 silver Mazda four-door Hill was driving seemed to purposely travel off the highway during high acceleration, striking the guardrail. It then traveled an additional 75 feet off of the road. Witnesses additionally told police they heard Hill admitting he wanted to kill the occupants of his car.
Rossford EMS transported both Hill and his wife, who was a passenger in the vehicle, to an area hospital, where Hill was later released and arrested by Rossford police and charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony.
