ROSSFORD - A would-be robber was caught after taking money from a Tim Horton's store in the city early this morning.
Rossford Police were alerted to the incident at the store, located at 1011 Buck Road, at 12:09 a.m. An undisclosed amount of money was reportedly taken in the robbery.
The suspect vehicle, a 2012 Jeep, was spotted by an officer who attempted to stop the vehicle entering Toledo on Miami Street near Interstate 75.
The Jeep fled police and a pursuit ensued onto I-75 southbound. The Jeep came to a stop after striking a tree on private property near Grassy Creek Drive in Perrysburg Township.
Jeremiah Zoltani, 25, Millbury, the driver of the vehicle, was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment, and is under arrest for armed robbery, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, and receiving stolen property - all felonies. The last charge stems from the Jeep, which was reported stolen in Millbury and reported to Lake Township Police just moments before the robbery occurred.
Arresting officer Eric Thompson and assisting officer Adam Myers were not involved or injured in the crash that ended the pursuit. Officers from the Perrysburg Township Police Department and the Owens Community College Police Department assisted at both the scene of the robbery and the scene of the crash.
