Mike Jay has been added to the staff of the Regional Growth Partnership as director of strategic networks.
He will take the new position March 1, leaving his post as director of economic development for the city of Fremont in Sandusky County.
I have known Mike for more than 10 years and he is, without question one of the most respected and professional individuals in this industry," said Dean Monske, president and CEO of the RGP. "This position is made for Mike and I am confident he will flourish."
Jay's post will require him to meet regularly with county commissioners, mayors and other elected officials to communicate positive developments and successes of the RGP and JobsOhio. He will also meet with economic development officials throughout the region to discuss programs and initiatives. Jay has lead Fremont's economic development team since 1992. Earlier he worked at Terra Community College in Fremont, managing the Small Business Innovative Research program and leading the technology transfer process from higher education industry.
He has nearly 30 years of experience in economic development. "Mike has a unique set of skills where he can assist our team in virtually any area, such as project management, site consultant visits, marketing and business development," Monske said.
RGP is a private, nonprofit economic development group dedicated to aiding local, national and international business investment in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
