Residents now responsible for brush pickup in Perrysburg

PERRYSBURG — Residents are responsible for remaining brush now that city pick-up has been completed.
Failure to remove brush from the right-of-way by May 7 is a code violation, which will prompt the city to
remove it at the
cost of the homeowner at a minimum of $100 for the first hour and $75
for each additional hour or portion thereof. If the bill is not paid, a
tax assessment will be made against the property.
Residents may use the city compost site or the yard waste program to comply by May 7.
The compost site is free to residents and available from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Anyone interested should bring their driver’s license to the Department
of Public Service, 11980 Roachton Road, where instructions and a key to
the site will be given. The compost site is also open from 8 a.m. until noon on the second and fourth
Saturday of the month, though registration is required.
Also available are three options within the city’s pay-as-you-go yard
waste pickup, by using city bags and tags or a curbside bin. Bags cost
$2.25 per bag and bundle tag, and are available at the public service
department, Black Diamond, Kazmaier’s, Kroger, Lowe’s, Luckey Farmers,
Rite Aid and Walt Churchill’s Market. Bundles cannot be longer than 4
feet long or 2 feet wide and must weigh less than 65 pounds.
Residents may also purchase a 64-gallon or 96-gallon green Toter at
Lowe’s in Perrysburg and then purchase a $6 or $8 tag, depending on
size. This service is available through Nov. 30,
and Toters with tags will be picked up on regular garbage day.
Residents may also purchase season-long service for either size Toter by
contacting Modern Disposal at 419-874-2966.
For more information, contact the Department of Public Service at 419-872-8020 or visit www.ci.perrysburg.oh.us.
