The Wood County District Public Library Children's Place has ended a successful "Dig Into Reading" Summer Reading Program.
More than 1,200 readers registered; over 150 youth assisted the library as volunteens throughout the summer, and over 3,000 people attended summer programs. Winners of the final raffle have been contacted, and the Children's Place is now returning to a school year programming schedule.
Paws for Reading will meet weekly Wednesdays 4 to 5 p.m. Children ages five and up are matched with an older buddy for fun, supportive, read-aloud practice. Ben, a registered therapy dog, will join readers and loves to hear a good story.
Weekly story times will also resume next week as well. Preschool Storytime, for ages three through six, is every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Listen, Little Ones, for babies and toddlers with caregivers, is every Thursday at 10:15 a.m.
The Children's Place currently has a wide variety of back to school books and materials on display and available for check-out. For more information, contact the Children's Place at (419) 352-8253.
