Red Ribbon event Friday honors youth

On Friday, the Wood County Educational Service Center will kick off its annual Red Ribbon Week with a
special program "Honoring Our Youth."
The public as well as all those who work with youth are invited for a morning of information and
celebration as the ESC recognizes local youths who promote drug awareness in our community.
To reserve a space contact Lorrie Lewandowski at (419) 354-9011, extension 113, or e-mail
[email protected].
The kick-off will begin at 9:30 at 1867 N. Research Park, Bowling Green, with a presentation on synthetic
drug trends by Lake County Narcotics Officer Pat Willis.
At 11:45 the Red Ribbon luncheon will announce winners of the Safety Kids Calendar Contest (sponsored by
the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office) and the New Cool Contest. Also during the morning Dr. Bill Ivoska
will share results of the Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board’s Youth
Drug Survey.
Red Ribbon Week honors all those locally and nationally who educate youth about substance abuse.
