Raymond Braun new BGSU business administration dean

Bowling Green State University hasselected attorney and businessman Raymond Braun as
its new dean ofthe College of Business Administration, effective July 1. He
followsDr. Madhu Rao, interim dean ofthe college, who is retiring from
BGSU.“From his career as a highly successful attorney, CEO of CogdellSpencer
Inc., a public company in Charlotte, N.C., specializing inmedical office
buildings; and president of Health Care REIT Inc., ofToledo, a health care real
estate investment trust, Raybrings a sound and current working knowledge of
today’s businessenvironment and practices,” said Dr. Rodney Rogers, senior
vicepresident for academic affairs and provost.Braun helped lead the two
organizations to new levels of success andhas extensive nonprofit and corporate
board experience, Rogers added. Hehas also headed task forces and strengthened
fund raising.Braun is a BGSU alumnus. He earned a bachelor’s degree in
accountingand economics in 1980, and a law degree from the University
ofPennsylvania in 1983. He was the lead instructor of finance,underwriting and
investment analysis of seniors housing and careat the Erickson School,
University of Maryland, Baltimore County, in2005-06. He also holds a certificate
in strategic decision and riskmanagement from the Stanford Center for
Professional Development."I am delighted to be serving my alma mater as the
dean of theCollege of Business Administration,” Braun said. “I look forward
tocontinuing the work of Rodney Rogers and Madhu Rao in elevating thenational
profile of the college."
