Monday through April 21 has been recognized as National Public Safety Telecommunicator's Week.
Thousands of Americans dial 911 for help each day in life-threatening emergencies. The emergency communication personnel in this community play a crucial role in public safety, and are the first step in handling emergency situations, said Brad Conner, chief of the Bowling Green Police Division.
Emergency communications professionals assume a daily, critical role in gathering essential information, assessing urgency and delivering information quickly and accurately which can mean the difference in a life or death situation.
