PERRYSBURG - As part of its "Inspiration Staycation" Summer Program for area residents, PRIZM Creative Community is offering a field trip/hands on art experience to the Detroit area on Monday from about 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There needs to be a minimum number of ten attendees.
The day of activities will begin with a docent lead tour and a handmade tile workshop at Pewabic Pottery, a famous working pottery studio that is a national historic landmark. Cost for the docent tour, and tile making workshop will be $20 for PRIZM members and guests. After the tile workshop participants will enjoy lunch at Legends Grill, a Detroit coney style eatery known for fresh ingredients and great prices; and take a champagne tour of "The Whitney," Detroit's most iconic mansion. Participants should bring money for gas, lunch, $10 for the mansion tour, and any gift shop purchases.
Participants should meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Riverplace/Churchill's parking lot on Ohio 25 outside the Subway restaurant in Perrysburg. From there maps will be distributed, and carpool and ride sharing will be arranged for the 10 a.m. departure to Detroit. Participants can also travel on their own but should register for the class/tour by July the 18.
