PERRYSBURG - Prevention Partners, a program of Behavioral Connections, will host its seventh annual Red Ribbon Run Oct. 26 at Levis Commons. The event will include a 5K/10K race and a 1 Mile and 1K Kids' Fun Run. The event is a collaborative effort by Prevention Partners, the Fort Meigs YMCA, Second Sole, and Levis Commons.
Race registration is now open at Second Sole or the Fort Meigs YMCA. Online registration is also available through www.imathlete.com.
The Red Ribbon Run is a celebration of Red Ribbon Week, a nationally recognized week dedicated to drug and alcohol prevention for youth. The PASA Teen Board, a group of high school students dedicated to a drug-free lifestyle, will host Halloween costume contests for both kids' runs. In addition, there will be kids' games and activities following the Kids' Fun Runs.
Race registration on Oct. 26 will open at 7:30 a.m. in front of Second Sole in Levis Commons. Both Kids' Fun Runs will begin at 8:30 and the 5K and 10K will start at 9. All preregistered runners are guaranteed a long-sleeve t-shirt. Refreshments will be provided after the races.
Prevention Partners is part of the non-profit organization Behavioral Connections and works to build healthy communities and drug free youth by providing education, resources and community partnerships. For 25 years we have worked to build healthy communities and drug free youth in Perrysburg, Ohio through various programs that provide resources to support healthy youth and families.
