A number of political signs for local candidates and issues were reported stolen in the city Monday.
Bowling Green Police received reports of a series of incidents on Eberly Avenue Monday morning, and the signs had apparently been taken during the overnight hours.
One residence in the 200 block had three political signs taken and an officer was notified that "most of the residences on Eberly had their (signs) taken as well."
A large number of political signs were found leaning up against a home on East Merry Street, but the resident told police they did not put them there.
The signs were to be returned to their owners.
In another incident, three yard signs were reported stolen in the 200 block of North Maple Street. Signs had also reportedly been taken from a nearby residence on the street.
