LIME CITY -  Perrysburg Township Trustees approved tax abatement Wednesday for a company looking to construct an additional building.
ZGL Investments will pay $12,250 to Rossford schools each year and make a one-time payment of $11,200 to Penta County Joint Vocational School as part of the 10-year agreement, according to Wade Gottschalk, executive director of Wood County Economic Development Corporation.
ZGL President Don Smucker said the company plans to construct a duplicate of the facility it owns at 28304 Cedar Park Blvd., as tenants of the building are prepared to expand.
"I think we're fortunate to be hearing these kind of (tax incentive) requests in the economy that we've been in," Trustee Bob Mack said. "So I would applaud their efforts and tell them that we want to do whatever we can do, as we have for the other occupants in that business park over the years."
Trustees also:
• Discussed the township's possession of Rossford Transportation Improvement District bonds and in what ways they could be refinanced.
• Approved the promotion of Matt Homik to captain with the fire department, effective Friday. He will earn $26.31 per hour.
• Agreed to look into installing a crosswalk at U.S. 20 and Thompson Road at the request of township residents. Cost of project was estimated at roughly $25,000, which would be split with Rossford.
• Approved the purchase of two new police vehicles at a cost of $49,412.
• Discussed contracting with eMerge for document scanning and retention.
