ERIE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) – Southeastern Michigan authorities say that a 34-year-old Perrysburg man
apparently drowned after falling from a personal watercraft on a private lake.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says searchers found the body of Jason G. Mitchell around 1 p.m.
Sunday in about 7 feet of water.
The lake is in Erie Township, just north of the Ohio state line.
The sheriff’s department said in a statement that a 28-year-old Ohio woman was operating the watercraft
and Mitchell was her passenger. He reportedly fell off and disappeared under water about 8 p.m.
Saturday.
The department says Mitchell wasn’t wearing a flotation device. It says that searchers worked from 8:15
