A Perrysburg man who was a passenger in a vehicle died Monday as a result of a two-vehicle accident in Lucas County.
Walter E. Baker, 89, was transported to UTMC, where he was later pronounced deceased. Baker was a right front seat passenger in a 2007 Cadillac DTS being driven by Mary Ann Lillis, 52, of Littleton, Colo.
The Toledo Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at the intersection of Dutch Road and Waterville Monclova Road at approximately 1:10 p.m.
Jodie L. Perry, 39, of Swanton, was operating a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan, traveling eastbound on Dutch Road. Lillis was westbound on Dutch, attempting to turn south on Waterville Monclova Road, when Perry failed to stop for the stop sign and struck Lillis in the right side, the patrol reported.
Perry was not injured, but a passenger, Haley Davis, 15, of Swanton, was transported to St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee, with incapacitating injuries.
Lillis was also taken to St. Luke's, as was another passenger, Susan Baird, 55, of Centential, Colo., both with incapacitating injuries.
The patrol reports that all were wearing seatbelts and that alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
The crash remains under investigation.
Waterville Township and Waterville police assisted, along with Waterville fire and Lucas County EMS.
