PERRYSBURG - The board of trustees of the Perrysburg Heights Community Association held an executive session on July 2.
At that meeting the following people were elected to one year terms starting this month. Jesse Spier was elected president, Paul "Chico" Martinez was elected vice president, Amanda Becerra was elected secretary, Jason Craig was elected treasurer, Mary Ruiz was elected co-treasurer, and Kristie Koester was elected historian.
In addition, Steven Kramer, past president resigned from the board stating personal reasons.
Also at that meeting the board discussed the annual festival which will be modified somewhat from previous Ohio's South of the Border festivals. This year, The Perrysburg Mexican - American Festival will be a one day event and will be held at the Community Center at 12282 Jefferson St. on August 10 from noon to midnight.
Admission will be free.
There will be music by local, regional and national bands, dancing, singing, international and American food, beverages, raffles, games for young and old, and lots more.
In an effort to show support of the many Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan non-profit organizations, the PHCA board of trustees decided that when visitors buy tickets from the PHCA ticket booth, they can let the ticket seller know what non-profit organization to support. PHCA will then donate 20 percent to that organization.
The Perrysburg Heights Community Association realizes that without the support of many of these groups, this region would not be as great as it is.
