A Pemberville resident awaiting sentencing on an assault charge connected to a 2013 incident in which he
reportedly pulled a knife on a man is now wanted by authorities for theft.
Maj. Tony Hetrick of Bowling Green Police said that a warrant has been issued for Christopher Bell, 26,
after he reportedly skipped out on paying a $76.77 bill for a room at the Day’s Inn on East Wooster
Street. The incident occurred Tuesday night.
Bell is awaiting sentencing next month for the assault charge, connected to the Nov. 13, 2013, incident
which was reported on North Main Street in the downtown.
At that time, he reportedly pulled a knife on a man who then grabbed the weapon. After a struggle Bell
reportedly fled and was captured by police, who tased him after he was combative and allegedly tried to
spit on them. Following a March hearing in which he pleaded guilty, Bell was released on his own
recognizance prior to sentencing.
