Parmalee headlines Wayne’s Country Jamboree festivities

WAYNE – A nationally-recognized county band will headline this year’s Wayne Firefighters Country
Jamboree.
The jamboree, which also includes a barbecue, corn hole tournament and beer tent, is set for July 26
along Center Street.
Country chart-topper Parmalee will perform along with special guests Rodney Parker and Liberty Beach, and
the Brent Lowery Band. Music will start at 4 p.m. with the headliners taking the stage at 10 p.m.
The event is for 18 and over only, rain or shine (tented grounds) gates open 3 p.m. and the party will
last until midnight.
Tickets are $10 advance, or $15 at gate. Proceeds benefit Wayne Volunteer Firefighters Memorial Fund.
Tickets can be purchased at waynefirejamboree.net or at the Wayne Fire Station or from any member of the
fire department or auxiliary; at Friendship Food Store, Wayne location only; First Merit Bank, Wayne
location only; Mad Dawgs, Bradner; and Country Farmhouse, Wayne.
On behalf of Larry "Butch" Trumbull, $5 admission to all firefighters & EMTs will be
offered from 3 to 6 p.m. with a valid state Fire/EMT card. This offer does not apply to spouses or other
family members.
A beef and hog roast plus barbecue chicken will be available 4 p.m. until gone at a cost of $7. All
dinners are first come-first serve. The dinners also are available for carry out and admission is not
required.
Parmalee recently made history when its multi-week #1 smash "Carolina" became the longest
climbing single by a duo or group in the 24-year history of the Billboard Country Airplay Chart.
Parmalee is also the first multi-member country act to garner a #1 single on both the Billboard Country
Airplay and Mediabase/ Country Aircheck charts since Florida Georgia Line.
"Carolina" was recently certified GOLD (for over 500,000 in sales) by the RIAA.
In its eighth year, the jamboree took advantage of the Wood County Fair not booking a concert. The
jamboree is the weekend before the start of the fair.
A Cornhole Classic contest is also planned with a 40-team limit and $500 in prizes. For more information,
