A woody plant removal will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Beaver Creek Preserve. Volunteers will help improve wildlife habitat by removing unwanted woody plants. No experience is required. Attendees should dress to work outdoors and bring gloves if available.
Turkey vultures will be the topic of the Pre-Schoolers in the Parks program to be held March 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Park District Headquaters on Mercer Road. This program, for children ages 3 to 6, will feature a short story and a craft about these birds. Adult companions must remain with children for this program.
Also on March 14, a "Pie Day" Greenhouse Help will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Reuthinger Preserve, Northwood. Volunteers may be asked to perform a variety of functions such as transplanting seedlings, filling pots, or watering plants. No experience is necessary. In celebration of "Pie Day," volunteers will be treated to dessert following the work session.
