Park district offers plant history, kids art programs PDF Print E-mail

Register for the following Wood County Park District programs at www.wcparks.org or by calling 419-353-1897.
•    Autumn FANS, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, W.W. Knight Nature Preserve - Drop off your 9-12 year old for Fun, Art, Nature and Science. Indoors and out, dress for the weather and getting messy.
•    Native Plants: The History You May Not Know, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 6, Reuthinger Preserve - Come learn some of the ways early settlers used native plants. This will be a hands-on interactive program.
•    Native Nursery Night Wrap Up volunteer opportunity, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7, Reuthinger Preserve - Join us for the last Thursday night of the year at the Native Plant Nursery and Greenhouse. Plan on collecting seeds, then having a treat to celebrate the season. Dress to work outdoors, and bring gloves if you have them.
•    Be Prepared, 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 9, Cedar Creeks Preserve open shelter - How are plants and animals getting ready for shorter days and cooler weather? Find out what animals in the parks do to survive and take a walk looking foe survival strategies.
