Rebecca Rader was one of 2,688 people on Ohio's waiting list for a kidney transplant.
But Rader got one kidney transplant more than month ago, so now she's living with three.
She was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease when she was 8.
Her son, Tyler, 13, was diagnosed with the same disease in September.
Polycystic kidney disease is a disorder in which many cysts form in the kidneys, causing them to become enlarged.
"They're just covered in cysts," she said about her kidneys.
She was on the state's transplant waiting list for exactly two years when she got the call a kidney was waiting for her.
She was contacted March 16 and got her new kidney the next day, St. Patrick's Day.
Her surgery was done at Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center.
The disease has caused her bad kidneys to double in size.
"My stomach looks like I'm six or seven months pregnant all the time," said Rader, a 1999 Bowling Green High School graduate.
Life's "got a whole new meaning for me now," said the 31-year-old who now lives in McComb.
The condition makes it difficult to bend over.
"They're huge. People ask when I'm due," she said.
She's now living with three kidneys but will see the doctor at the end of the month to have the diseased two removed.
With the new kidney, she is no longer on dialysis.
As a wife and mother of four, having trouble getting around is a nuisance.
"I'm not supposed to be doing this and that, but I want to try."
Rader has set up an account at Woodforest National Bank within Walmart for anyone who would like to make a donation to help the family with medical expenses.
