STONY RIDGE – A Walbridge man was taken to the hospital following a Wednesday crash near the
village.The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 3:40 p.m. Charles Remele Jr., Walbridge, was
stopped eastbound on U.S. 20 waiting to turn onto Ohio 163 when Cristina Gruppi, Woodville, also
eastbound, failed to maintain an assured clear distance and struck Remele’s vehicle in the rear.Remele
was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, by Troy Township EMS with possible injuries.Gruppi was cited
for assured clear distance ahead.
