TOLEDO - A trial has been set in the case of a nearly 30-member drug ring that operated for over a decade in Northwest Ohio, including specific activities in Wood County.
The trial is set for Oct. 22 in U.S. District Court. The case has been assigned to Judge Jeffrey J. Helmick.
According to the indictment, the group obtained marijuana and cocaine from Texas and Mexico, and then distributed it throughout the Northwest Ohio region between 2002 and 2012.
"During the course of the conspiracy, over 1,000 kilograms of cocaine and over 100 kilograms of marijuana were distributed" in the area, the indictment alleges.
