Nominations sought for BG Chamber of Commerce awards

Nominations are being sought from the public for the Athena Award, the Zeus Award and the
Outstanding Citizen Awards of the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce.Nomination forms, including criteria and
submission information, are available from the Chamber of Commerce, at 163 N. Main St., and can also be
obtained from the chamber’s website at: www.bgchamber.net.Completed nominations should be returned by the
due-date listed with each award.These awards will be presented at the annual Meeting Dinner and Awards, Feb.
8, at the Bowling Green State University Bowen-Thompson Student Union.• The Athena Award celebrates the
potential of all women as valued members and leaders of the community and recognizes those who support them.
An Athena recipient is someone who assists women in reaching their full leadership potential; demonstrates
excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession; and provides valuable service by
devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community. Nominations due by Jan.
8.• The Zeus Award is the counterpart to the Athena. Zeus Award recipients are male individuals who support
a culture that encourages women to achieve their full leadership potential through active mentoring,
supporting, and development actions. A Zeus award nominee is someone who gives back to the larger community
of women and girls by providing and/or supporting leadership development opportunities and initiatives. A
Zeus demonstrates excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession, and provides
valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community.
Nominations are due by Jan. 8.• The Outstanding Citizen awards recognize those who live or work in the
Bowling Green area, and have demonstrated an active leadership role for the betterment of the community
through involvement in business, civic, social and /or service organizations. Nominations are due by Jan. 8.
