Bowling Green's Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for three special awards to be presented at its 2013 Mid-Year Meeting in July.
•    "Small Business of the Year" Award, which honors businesses located within the Bowling Green city limits that demonstrate achievement in management and workplace excellence, product innovation, and community and social responsibility. Its purpose is to acknowledge publicly the vital contributions made by area companies to business growth in Bowling Green, and to illustrate the depth of talent that exists in the Bowling Green business community by highlighting nominees' success stories.
Nomination forms are due June 7 and are available at www.bgchamber.net as well as at the chamber office.
Nominated businesses must meet the definition of a small business as defined by the Small Business Administration.  The company must be financially stable and operational for a minimum of five years, and must be an investor in good standing of local chamber at the time the award is presented.
•    "I Love BG" Award honors an individual/organization for their efforts in increasing the visibility of the city, and improving the quality of life for Bowling Green residents. The purpose of the award is to recognize an individual/ organization/business, for efforts and the level of need that the nominee has fulfilled; the number of people and the type of benefit gained from the nominee's efforts.
The award has been presented since 1998. A personalized painting is designed specifically for the winner, by local artist Rebecca Laabs.
Nominations are due by June 14 at 5 p.m.
•    "Outstanding Customer Service" Award honors businesses that demonstrate exceptional customer service.  Nominations are sought from customers who feel they have received exceptional service from a Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Investor.  Also, businesses can self-nominate. Multiple nominations/testimonials will be accepted and encouraged, but the award will be based on the quality of testimonials, not quantity.
Self-nominated testimonials must provide examples of service that resulted in an increase in customer/client satisfaction, retention, and referrals. Additionally, self-nominated testimonials must describe how existing or improved service procedures, achieved through a well-defined service policy, resulted in customer retention, service follow-up to gauge satisfaction, etc.
Nomination forms are due to the chamber on June 7, and are available at www.bgchamber.net as well as in the chamber office.
