LIME CITY – No injuries were reported after a dump truck fire closed portions of Ohio 795 at Oregon Road
Tuesday.
Perrysburg Fire Chief Tom Brice said this morning that firefighters were called to the scene just after
12:40 p.m.
He said the driver of the Stevens Disposal dump truck "was just driving and stopped at the
intersection and noticed that it was on fire."
The blaze started in the engine compartment and spread to the garbage storage area in the back.
Brice said that, upon the arrival of crews to the scene, the cab of the truck was fully involved in
flames and the garbage contained by the truck was also burning.
The driver was not injured. Brice said the truck was probably a total loss, but could not provide a
monetary estimate of the damage.
Portions of the westbound lanes of the roadway were closed on and off during the incident, Brice said.
Crews remained on-scene for approximately three hours.
