ROSSFORD — No injuries to occupants or firefighters are being reported as the result of a late Saturday night blaze at the rear of 311 Superior St.

Rossford Fire Chief Jim Verbosky reports the blaze was called in at 11 p.m. The fire started in the basement and extended to the floors and attic above. He said the balloon-type construction of the building aided the fire's extension through the structure.

The basement and two apartments were heavily damaged.

The blaze remains under investigation. A damage estimate has not been completed.

Rossford firefighters were assisted by automatic mutual aid from Perrysburg Township and Northwood. Help was also requested from Toledo Fire-Rescue.
