An Alabama-based sporting goods company has plans to open a new store in Bowling Green.
Hibbett Sports plans to open April 13 at 1111 S. Main Street within The Shoppes on South Main.
The store plans to hire a total of eight full and part-time employees.
"We're thrilled to be opening a new store in Bowling Green. People in Bowling Green take their sports seriously, and we plan to give them the sporting goods products and know-how they've been looking for," said Jeff Rosenthal, president and CEO of Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc.
Hibbett Sports, established in 1945, has over 800 sporting good stores throughout the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. The company specializes in full-line sporting good stores for small to mid-sized markets.
The store will offer athletic equipment, footwear and apparel and will service the needs of team and individual sport participants as well as coaches. It will also offer localized apparel and accessories as well as brand name merchandise.
Friendly customer service and serving the local community are priorities for Hibbett Sports.
"No matter how many stores we open, we don't lose sight of the fact that every town we serve is a hometown," Rosenthal said.
The hours the store will be open was not available.
