PERRYSBURG - Area residents recently got a chance to tour the campus of a new local senior living community just south of the city.
St. Clare Commons is slated to open this year. Construction began last August.
Located on Five Point Road just off of Ohio 25, and adjacent to Blessed John XXIII Parish, the 135,000 square-foot living community will offer a number of available services including assisted living, specialized memory care, rehab-to-home, and nursing care in its opening phase.
The building itself will contain 56 assisted living apartments, 36 memory care suites, and 60 nursing/short-term rehabilitation beds. Also featured are a piano lounge and coffee shop.
Future phases will include independent living apartments and villa homes.
Dr. Anu Garg, associate director of geriatric medicine at UTMC, was recently named as St. Clare Commons' medical director. The nursing director is Dana Larson.
The facility is a member of Sylvania Franciscan Health, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania. It is expected that the site will employee approximatey 120 people, with salaries totaling $3.3 million.
