New director of NorthWest Community Corrections center named PDF Print E-mail

Cary Williams, from Ironton, has been named the new executive director of the NorthWest Community Corrections Center in Bowling Green.
The Facility Governing Board of the corrections center made its selection late last week.  Williams will start on June 10.
Prior to accepting this appointment, Williams served as the program director and community justice director at the STAR Community Justice Center. STAR is a nine-county, 130 bed, accredited, male and female Community Based Correctional Facility located in Scioto County.
A graduate of Ohio University, he is currently working on his master's degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Cincinnati.
He will replace Valerie Amidon who has served as the director since 2006, and will retire in July.
