|Monday deadline for Boy Scout’s half marathon|

The Erie Shores Council of the Boy Scouts of America will hold the Fifth Annual Boy Scout Half Marathon and Tenderfoot 5k at the Wood County Fairgrounds on Aug. 31.
The event is open to the public and will take place from 7 a.m. to noon.
The half marathon, a 21.09 km course, will use the streets and county roads of Bowling Green, and is open to all who can complete the course in four hours or less. There is also a new Walker Division for the race, which will give awards to the first three male and female finishers.
The half marathon is designed as a hard preparatory run for fall marathoners, and overall awards will be given to the first male and female, and male and female Master. A $75 bonus will be awarded for setting a course record in an overall category. There will also be classifications in five-year age increments with awards going from first to third.
A finishers medal will be given to all who complete the half marathon.
The Tenderfoot 5k course will also use the streets of Bowling Green, and is open to all who can complete the distance. Overall awards will be made to the first male and female, and to the male Master and female Master. A $75 bonus will be awarded for setting a course record in an overall category.

The event will also feature a Tiger Cub Half Mile run for children under 10. A pancake breakfast will take place from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Pre-registration for the half-marathon, postmarked by Monday, is $33. Registration the day of the race is $40.
Pre-registration for the Tenderfoot 5k is $20, postmarked by Monday. Registration the day of the race is $25.
Pre-registration for the Tiger Cub run is $7, postmarked by Monday, with day-of registration being $3.
