|Michigan infant dies in Troy Township crash|

A Michigan infant died Tuesday as the result of a single-vehicle crash in Troy Township.
The Bowling Green Patrol Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred on Fostoria Road at the railroad crossing just south of Ohio 163 in Troy Township at approximately 10:55 a.m.
A 2006 Chevy Cobalt was being operated by Lori A. Massingill, 38, of Ida, Mich., with twin infant passengers in the back seat.
The vehicle was northbound on Fostoria Road travelling at a high rate of speed when it struck a railroad crossing and went airborne, going off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle re-entered the roadway and went off the left side of the roadway, striking a ditch and rolling twice.
Massingill and the two infants were all transported to Mercy St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Toledo. The mother was transported by Troy Township Fire Department, and the infants were taken by Promedica Helicopter. Massingill was listed in fair condition Tuesday, but an update on her condition was not available this morning.
One of the infants was pronounced deceased at St. Vincent’s, and the second infant was later transported to the University of Michigan Medical Center and listed in critical condition. The names of the two infants were not available this morning.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending the outcome.
