Many residents of Wood County remain without electrical power this morning in the wake of Wednesday afternoon’s storm.
First Energy is indicating outages in Perrysburg, rural Bowling Green, in several locations between Weston and Grand Rapids, along Ohio 582 east and west of Ohio 25 and in the Pemberville and Bradner areas. SEE MORE PHOTOS
As of 6:45 a.m. AEP was reporting 1,040 customers in Wood County without power.
Hancock-Wood Electric was reporting outages in the rural Bowling Green area and several areas of southeastern Wood County covering areas around Wayne and Bradner and rural locations. At one point more than 1,000 H-W customers were in the dark.

Residents across the county began cleaning up the mess Wednesday night. The sound of chain saws could be heard in many Bowling Green neighborhoods and the scene was no different in rural areas.

Mitchell Road between Bowling Green Road West and Sand Ridge was hard hit, as was the Stone Ridge Golf Club property. A house in the 800 block of Pine Valley was reported struck by lightning, trees fell and the club's maintenace garage on Mitchell Road was wrecked.

Trees were down on houses on Mitchell Road.

Traffic on Interstate 75 has returned to normal speeds after being backed up for hours in both directions. High wind knocked over several semis between Bowling Green and North Baltimore. The clean up took hours.
