GRAND RAPIDS – One man was killed in a crash on U.S. 6 south of the village Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Walter L. Conner, 78, of Fort Wayne, Ind.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office was informed of the crash at 4:53 p.m. It was located on Route 6 just
west of Wapakoneta Road.
Conner was driving a 2004 Chevy Colorado when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, rolled
several times, and then struck a utility pole.
Conner was not wearing a seat belt.
Northwest 190 EMS and Grand Rapids Fire Department responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
