Man charged with possession of heroin after traffic stop in BG

A North Carolina man was arrested on a series of drug charges on the east side of the city Tuesday.
At approximately 5:10 p.m. Bowling Green Police were informed by State Patrol Troopers of a white vehicle
with North Carolina plates being operated recklessly.
The vehicle was located in the 1600 block of East Wooster Street.
Officers made contact with the driver, Thomas Marshall, 30, Louisburg, N.C., who reportedly exhibited
signs of impairment and was determined to be under the influence. He was subsequently taken into
custody.
An inventory of the vehicle turned up syringes, including one containing suspected heroin. Marshall
reportedly told officers he is addicted to opiates.
He was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug
paraphernalia, operating a vehicle while under the influence, and unauthorized plates.
Marshall was listed in jail this morning and is to appear in court today.
