A Toledo man was arrested after a high-speed chase that began in Wood County and ended in Hancock County
Thursday.
According to Sgt. Nathan Henn of the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at
approximately 8:40 p.m. a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for a lane violation on Interstate 75
southbound near milepost 185, north of Bowling Green.
The suspect vehicle fled southbound, with speeds reaching over 100 mph.
Henn said the chase continued into Hancock County, where the trooper lost sight of the vehicle.
The vehicle was later sighted by authorities on Ohio 613, and by McComb police after the vehicle came
into the village at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle subsequently went off the road and struck a utility pole in the area.
The male driver, later identified as Jake Faulkner, 41, Toledo, fled on foot and was later taken into
custody by an OSP trooper without incident. He initially claimed to have minor back pain, but he was not
transported to a hospital.
A female passenger reportedly was not injured. Henn said he did not believe that she was charged in the
incident.
Henn said Faulkner was found to have multiple warrants, including a felony parole violation warrant, from
multiple Ohio counties.
He said Faulkner was reportedly wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet on his ankle when he was
arrested.
Faulkner was charged with felony fleeing and eluding.
