Curbside tree collection starts Jan. 6 in BGCollection of Christmas trees will occur during the
week of Jan. 6.To ensure collection, trees should be curbside by 7 a.m.All metal nails, tree stands,

on water/sewer district boardWood County commissioners recently appointed Shad Ridenour of Center Township
to the Northwestern Water and Sewer District Board of Trustees.Ridenour’s term runs Jan. 1 through 2018. The
vacancy was created by the death of board member Alex Molner.Ridenour, a Realtor and auctioneer, served as a
Center Township Trustee for 16 years. He is one of three members appointed by commissioners, with three
named by residents of district municipalities and three by township residents living in the district.Other
board members are John Cheney, Bill Davies, Bill Hirzel, Melinda Kale, Leonard Michaels, Lyle Schulte, Mike
Scott and Mark Sheffer.The district’s board is responsible for overall operation for approximately 17,000
customers in Wood, Sandusky and Ottawa counties. Specific tasks include long-term planning, operational

a two-car crash Thursday in Hancock County.According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Travis Wolph,
21, Findlay, was driving a 2001 Toyota Echo northbound on Township Road 261 around 1:19 p.m. when he failed
to yield at the stop sign at Ohio 613 and pulled into the path of Betty Palmerton, 67, Risingsun.Palmerton
was transported to Fostoria Community Hospital and treated. Wolph was cited for failure to yield from a stop
