State patrol collects guns, drugs, cashTOLEDO – From Dec. 16 through Dec. 19, the Ohio State
Highway Patrol conducted an operation on the Ohio Turnpike between Toledo and Cleveland aimed at
removing criminals from Ohio communities and roadways.The agency utilized personnel and resources from
around the state for the detail.During the operation troopers made a total of 238 traffic stops despite
inclement weather from snowfall. From those stops, troopers made seven felony drug arrests, two felony
weapon arrests and three misdemeanor drug arrests.The following contraband, with a street value of
$218,557.00, was seized by troopers:• 2,983 grams (just over 6 1/2 pounds) of marijuana.• 1,020 grams
(just over two pounds) of heroin.• 1 gram of cocaine.• 209 prescription pills.• 2 semi-automatic
handguns• $29,487 in U.S. currency.Heringhaus named to state officeWood County Magistrate Pamela
Heringhaus has been elected first vice president of the Ohio Association of Magistrates.Heringhaus is a
magistrate with the Wood County Commons Pleas Court. Previously, she was a referee with the Wood County
Juvenile Court, operated her own law practice and served as vice president and legal counsel for
Kaufman’s Inc.She holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a law degree from the
University of Toledo.The Ohio Association of Magistrates was established in 1989 to promote its members’
professional growth, effectiveness and common interests. Today the OAM has more than 500 members,
