UPS truck hits semi on turnpike
STONY RIDGE - Minor injuries were reported early this morning after a UPS truck reportedly sideswiped a disabled semi on the Ohio Turnpike near Interstate 280.
The Swanton post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that at approximately 2 a.m. the disabled semi tractor-trailer was stopped on the north shoulder of the turnpike off of the westbound lane.
The semi was being serviced by a service truck parked in front of it.
Both the driver of the service truck and the semi were sitting in the service truck when a westbound UPS truck drove over the white fog line and sideswiped the semi.
The impact caused the semi trailer to break open, and the cargo from both the semi and the UPS truck were distributed onto the turnpike.
The driver of the UPS truck reportedly sustained minor injuries.
The incident remains under investigation, and the names of those involved were not available this morning.
