Perrysburg moves to fact finding
PERRYSBURG — Teachers and administrators will proceed to fact finding on Dec. 12 as the two sides try to agree on a new contract.
The district filed a an unfair labor practice charge Oct. 21 with the State Employment Relations Board against the Perrysburg Education Association, the teachers’ union, claiming that union representatives failed to respond with availability for fact-finding after the sides failed to negotiate a new agreement with a mediator Oct. 8.
Teachers have been working under the expired agreement since their contract ran out July 31. PEA represents about 300 teachers and other staff members who fall under that designation, such as counselors, speech therapists, psychologists and media specialists.
