Wells surrenders without incident
Lonnie Wells III turned himself into the Wood County Sheriff's Office Friday evening without incident.
Wells was wanted for domestic violence, attempted felonious assault and intimidation of a crime victim following an incident in Bowling Green on Wednesday.
Bowling Green Police and the Wood County Sheriff's Office had both issued warrants for his arrest.

Port Authority meets Monday
The Wood County Port Authority will be Monday at 7:30 a.m. at the Northwestern Water and Sewer District, 12560 Middleton Pike, Bowling Green.

Hydrant flush set at Bradner
BRADNER - Fire hydrants will be flushed in the village Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights form 6:30 to 9.

Genealogical Society meets
The Wood County Chapter of Ohio Genealogical Society meets Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Wood County District Public Library Meeting Room, 251 N. Main St.
The brief business meeting will be followed by Meg Atkinson, local history librarian providing an in-depth session on using the free genealogy software "Legacy Family Tree."
The meeting is open to all.

Downtown BG trick or treat set
The annual Downtown Trick or Treat will be held Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m.
This event is hosted by the downtown businesses and Downtown BG. Members of BGSU's Pi Kappa Alpha, Alpha Sigma Phi, and Alpha Tau Omega fraternities, along with Alpha Omicron Pi, Chi Omega, and Kappa Kappa Gamma sororities, and the AFROTC will serve as crossing guards for this costumed event.
Businesses and organizations giving out treats will display an orange pumpkin in their window.

Candidate nights at Rossford
ROSSFORD — Contested races for both Board of Education and City Council, as well as a bond issue to fund a school building project, will mean two candidate forums next week.
A meet-the-candidates night for city council will be held Tuesday followed on Wednesday by a forum for school board. At the end of that session, Superintendent Daniel Creps will make a presentation on the building project.
Both sessions will be held in the high school cafeteria from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
Six candidates are vying for four seats on city council. Candidates are: Robert Densic, Dennis Foy and Daniel Wagner and incumbents Chuck Duricek, Jerry Staczek and Caroline Eckel.
Five candidates are vying for two seats on the Board of Education. They are: Tiffany Densic, Susan Gluckin and Jackie Huffman and incumbents Dawn Burks and J. Douglas Miller.  
The district is seeking a 4.6-mill bond issue to raise $32.2 million and cost $161 a year for the owner of a home assessed at $100,000.

Flu shots offered at meal in Grand Rapids Tuesday
GRAND RAPIDS — A flu shot clinic is planned at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 23019 Kellogg Road, Tuesday during its monthly Fourth Tuesday Meal.
The meal is from 5 to 6 p.m., while the flu shots will begin at 4:30 p.m. Individuals who have Medicare or State Aid can receive the shot at no cost if they bring their insurance card. The cost for all others is $29.99 cash. Questions to 419-266-4497. The clinic is sponsored by Rite Aid Pharmacy.
The menu is pork roast, mashed potatoes, and broccoli casserole. The public is invited. Freewill donations are accepted for the meal.

Rudolph league hosts bingo
RUDOLPH — The Rudolph Youth Ball League will offer bingo Wednesday at the Liberty Township Civic Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Play at 6.

BG Civil Service to meet
Bowling Green’s Civil Service Commission meets at 8 a.m. Nov. 9 in the Simpson Building,1291 Conneaut Ave.
The commission will administer an entry-level written examination for Firefighter/EMT and take action following the exam to establish a passing test score, and to establish a list of candidates eligible for hire to classification of Firefighter/EMT.
