Tonight's Teen Central Carnival is postponed
The Bowling Green Teen Central Carnival set for tonight has been postponed due to inclement weather predictions. The carnival will be held in April.
For those who have previously purchased wristbands, take them to the Bowling Green Community Center at 1245 W. Newton Road to begin the refund process.
Ruse named to visitors bureau in Rossford
ROSSFORD - Councilman Robert Ruse was appointed Monday to serve on the city's Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Council confirmed the appointment Monday.
Ruse replaces Mike Scott, who let council last month, to join the board of the Northwestern Sewer and Water District.
Ruse said replacing Scott, who was instrumental in founding the bureau, would be a big task.
Council also confirmed the appointment of Autumn Wheaton Rodriguez to the Recreation Board.
One injured in Sunday crash
RISINGSUN - One woman was injured in a crash on U.S. 23 in the village on Sunday.
According to the Wood County Sheriff's Office, Shain Owens, Fostoria, was northbound on Route 23 in the 200 block when he made a left-hand turn into the path of James Moore, Springfield, who was southbound on Route 23.
Injured was Moore's right-front passenger, Vicki Moore, Springfield, who sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Fostoria Community Hospital by Bradner EMS.
Owens was cited for right of way when turning left.
Fatal crashes down in county
Fatal crashes in Wood County are continuing to experience a drop compared to last year.
According to statistics from Wood County Safe Communities, there have been 13 fatal crashes in the county this year, compared to 18 by the same time in 2012.
As of Sept. 30, there have been 1,188 total crashes in Wood County, with 281 being injury crashes. In 2012, there were 2,417 total crashes over the same period, with 561 being injury crashes. This is a 50 percent decrease of injury crashes from 2012.
Of those total crashes, 51 drivers were driving impaired, compared to 94 in 2012.
